New Delhi, May 13: In a significant nationwide initiative, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched an 11-day ‘Tiranga Yatra’ on Tuesday, aimed at honouring the courage and sacrifice of India’s armed forces, especially in the wake of the successful completion of 'Operation Sindoor'. The yatra will be held from May 13 to May 23 across various regions of the country.
Beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the Tiranga Yatra seeks to inspire a strong sense of national pride and unity, with a central focus on paying tribute to the bravery of the Indian Army. Through this campaign, the BJP aims to reach out to citizens across communities, emphasizing patriotism, respect for the national flag, and a message of national solidarity.
Senior BJP leaders and Union Ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and J.P. Nadda, held detailed discussions on May 11 regarding the rollout of the campaign. BJP National President J.P. Nadda is overseeing the coordination of the yatra along with leaders like Sambit Patra, Vinod Tawde, and Tarun Chugh at the national level.
According to party sources, while the yatra is deeply patriotic in spirit, it is intended to remain non-partisan. “This is not about politics but about uniting people in honour of our soldiers' bravery,” a senior BJP official clarified. The campaign will include large-scale public events, bike rallies, flag-hoisting ceremonies, and awareness programs that highlight the success of Operation Sindoor, which the government considers a landmark military success.
The BJP hopes that the Tiranga Yatra will strengthen the emotional bond between the armed forces and the citizens, reinforcing Prime Minister Modi's message of strong leadership and national security. With the Tricolour flying high across cities and towns, the party envisions a wave of patriotic sentiment sweeping across the nation.
