Renowned actress Samantha, known for her powerful performances, has now taken a bold step into film production. Under her newly launched banner ‘Tralala Moving Pictures’, her debut production ‘Shubham’, directed by Praveen Kandregula, is set to release worldwide on May 9.

Stepping into Production: A New Journey

Speaking at a media interaction, Samantha opened up about her experiences as a first-time producer. "As an actor, your focus is limited to your role. But when you’re a producer, every little detail becomes your responsibility. If a scene doesn’t go as planned or a shoot gets delayed, the time and money lost are immense. It’s only after sitting in the producer’s chair that I truly understood the value of every minute and every rupee," she shared.

She added, “Earlier, I never gave much thought to a reshoot—it was just another day at work. But now, I see the cost behind every delay, the increased location charges, crew wages, and how mismanagement can spiral. This experience has taught me the importance of meticulous planning and flawless execution.”

Supporting New Talent & Prioritizing Storytelling

Samantha said her decision to turn producer was driven by a desire to encourage fresh talent, just as Gautham Vasudev Menon once gave her a break. “‘Shubham’ features newcomers like Shreya, Shravanthi, and Shalini—who’ve all put in commendable effort. The story by Vasanth is a satirical take on the television industry, and I believe it will connect with audiences of all age groups.”

She emphasized that the budget was carefully planned to suit the story’s needs. “We didn’t splurge unnecessarily. The story is our hero,” she remarked. Samantha expressed confidence that ‘Shubham’ is a family-friendly film and hopes audiences will receive it warmly.

She concluded by saying that the lessons she learned as a first-time producer will be invaluable for her future projects.
