GATE 2026 Application: Online Registration Begins – New Exam Dates & Fee Details Released

The official notification for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) has been released for admissions into M.Tech and PhD programs for the academic year 2026–27 in IITs and other top institutes across India.

 The online application process has now started, and candidates can register until September 28, 2025.

 Key Highlights:

• New Subject Added: Energy Science (XE-I) under Engineering Sciences (XE). Total number of papers is now 30.
• Applications: Candidates can apply for up to 2 papers (with separate fees for each).
• Application Fee:
• Women, SC, ST, PwD: ₹1000 per paper
• All others: ₹2000 per paper
• Correction Window: Category, exam city, and paper changes allowed until November 6, 2025.
• Exam Dates: February 7, 8, 14, 15 (2026)
• Admit Card Release: January 2, 2026
• Result Date: March 19, 2026
• Scorecard Download: March 27 – May 31, 2026

• Total Marks: 100
• Questions: 65
• Duration: 3 hours
• Negative Marking:
• 1-mark questions → 1/3 deduction
• 2-mark questions → 2/3 deduction
• Score Validity:
• PG admissions → 3 years
• PSU recruitments → 2 years
