According to the SEC, the process of accepting nominations will begin on October 9. The entire election process is aimed to be completed by November. Immediately after the schedule release, the model code of conduct has come into force across the state.
The SEC also clarified the eligibility criteria for candidates wishing to contest. At the time of nomination scrutiny, the candidate must be at least 21 years old. Additionally, they must be a registered voter in the ward or Gram Panchayat where they are contesting. These rules apply for the positions of Sarpanch, Ward Members, MPTC, and ZPTC.

The SEC released a list of individuals who are disqualified from contesting. Central and state government employees, as well as staff working in local bodies or government-aided institutions, are not allowed to contest. Anganwadi workers and village volunteers are also disqualified. Individuals holding positions in institutions formed under Parliament or Assembly laws are also barred. With the election code in force, authorities have set up strict monitoring to prevent illegal cash or liquor distribution.
