Srisailam Reservoir: Heavy Inflow Continues, Seven Gates Open to Release Water

Heavy rains in the upper regions are causing continuous flood inflows into the Krishna River. The Srisailam Reservoir is receiving large volumes of water from Jurala and Sunkesula projects. At present, around 1,17,221 cusecs of water is flowing into the reservoir, filling it close to its capacity.

To manage the inflow, authorities have lifted seven gates by ten feet and are releasing 1,87,208 cusecs of water towards Nagarjuna Sagar. In addition, 65,632 cusecs is being released through the right and left bank hydroelectric power stations while generating electricity.

As of this morning, the water level in the Srisailam Reservoir has reached 882.10 feet, with a storage capacity of 199.2737 TMC. Officials are closely monitoring the situation due to continuous inflows.
