Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed revenue officials to issue notices to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and his family members over a discrepancy involving 45 acres of land in Erravalli village, Siddipet district. The authorities have been asked to obtain land records from the family as part of an investigation into the difference between official survey records and the land identified during a ground survey.
The issue came up during a review meeting on land-related matters in Erravalli and its hamlet, Venkatapur, located in Markook mandal. Officials informed the Chief Minister that Survey No. 325 was recorded as covering 388 acres in revenue documents. However, a physical survey identified only 343 acres, leaving a difference of 45 acres that officials have been instructed to trace.
Officials Asked to Identify Missing 45 Acres
Revanth Reddy directed the concerned departments to determine the location of the unaccounted 45 acres and establish the reason for the discrepancy. As part of the process, a survey notification will be issued for Erravalli and Venkatapur villages to facilitate further examination of the land records.
According to officials, properties belonging to KCR and his family members are located along the boundary of Survey No. 325. Revenue authorities have therefore been instructed to collect the relevant land documents from the family to help clarify the boundaries and resolve the discrepancy.
The exercise is expected to help officials establish the actual extent of the land and identify the location of the area that could not be accounted for during the survey.
Government Plans Land Distribution to Farmers
The Telangana government is also considering distributing land within Survey No. 325 to eligible farmers from the local area. The proposal is part of the government's plans for the land, subject to the necessary identification and verification process.
The Chief Minister has additionally directed officials to develop a Telangana Martyrs’ Colony on a portion of the land. The proposed colony is intended to support the families of those who lost their lives during the Telangana statehood movement.
Martyrs’ Colony Targeted for Completion by June 2
The planned colony is expected to provide house sites and basic civic amenities to the families of Telangana movement martyrs. Revanth Reddy suggested that the Telangana Housing Board be entrusted with implementing the project.
Officials have been asked to complete the colony by June 2. The government’s plans for the site include both the proposed rehabilitation initiative for martyrs’ families and the possible distribution of land to eligible local farmers.
The immediate priority remains identifying the missing 45 acres, verifying the relevant revenue records and clarifying the boundaries of Survey No. 325 in Erravalli.
