OpenAI Bumper Offer for Indian Users – ChatGPT Go Free for One Year
OpenAI, the global leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI), has announced exciting news for Indian users. The company revealed that its premium subscription plan, “ChatGPT Go,” will be available free for one year starting from November 4 under a special promotional offer. This applies to both new and existing subscribers who sign up during the promotional period.
The announcement was made ahead of OpenAI’s first “DevDay Exchange” event in Bengaluru. The company stated that the move is part of its strategy to prioritize India as a key market and to support the Indian government’s “IndiaAI Mission” by promoting the use of AI tools across the country.
What is ChatGPT Go?
ChatGPT Go is a subscription plan introduced by OpenAI that offers access to its advanced GPT-5 model and several enhanced features — including higher message limits, improved image generation, increased file and image uploads, and memory that retains longer conversations. The plan was first launched in India this August in response to strong user demand for affordable premium AI features.
Strong Response in India
The plan received tremendous response from Indian users. Within the first month, the number of paid users doubled. Encouraged by this success, OpenAI has since expanded the plan to around 90 countries. Currently, India is OpenAI’s second-largest market after the United States, with millions of students, professionals, and developers using ChatGPT daily.
Speaking about the offer, Nick Turley, OpenAI Vice President, said: “The way Indian users have embraced ChatGPT Go has been truly inspiring. As part of our first DevDay Exchange event, we’re making it free for one year to bring advanced AI benefits to even more users in India.”
OpenAI also clarified that existing ChatGPT Go subscribers will automatically receive the 12-month free offer, with further details to be shared soon.
