OpenAI, the leading name in artificial intelligence innovation, has announced a major policy change for ChatGPT. The company will now allow adult (erotic) content creation through ChatGPT, but only for users aged 18 and above.

CEO Sam Altman stated that the decision is based on the principle of treating adults as adults. Starting from December, ChatGPT will be able to generate adult-themed stories, animations, and videos based on user prompts. The company clarified that all such content will be AI-generated, with no involvement of real humans.

Until now, OpenAI strictly prohibited adult content on its platforms. However, analysts believe this change is driven by competition — particularly with Elon Musk’s xAI chatbot ‘Grok’, which already offers similar AI-driven experiences. The “Grok Imagine” tool allows users to engage with 3D animated companions and even create short interactive videos. This move by OpenAI is seen as a step to stay competitive in the evolving AI landscape.
