Flood Inflow Continues at Nagarjuna Sagar Dam

Heavy Flood Inflow into Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoirs

Due to continuous rainfall in the upstream regions of the Krishna River, heavy floodwaters are reaching major reservoirs in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

  • Massive inflow into Srisailam Dam from Sunkesula and Jurala reservoirs

  • Srisailam reservoir has reached full capacity, prompting water release

  • On Monday, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu officially opened four gates to release floodwaters downstream

  • Over 1 lakh cusecs of water are now being released from Srisailam

As a result, Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is receiving an inflow of 1,05,764 cusecs. The outflow is currently measured at 9,334 cusecs.

Nagarjuna Sagar Water Level:

  • Current water level: 534.50 feet

  • Full Reservoir Level (FRL): 590 feet

  • Total storage capacity: 312 TMC

  • Present storage: 177 TMC

Authorities continue to monitor the situation as the Krishna River flood flow remains strong. People living in downstream areas are advised to stay alert and follow instructions from the irrigation department.
