The Andhra Pradesh government has introduced new measures to curb the illegal transport of ration rice. Rapid testing mobile kits have been deployed across the state to identify ration rice on the spot. These kits were inaugurated by Minister Nadendla Manohar in Visakhapatnam.

Minister Manohar stated that reforms have been initiated in the Civil Supplies Department and these mobile kits will help instantly test and trace the source of ration rice. A total of 700 mobile kits have been made available statewide. He explained that if the rice turns red during testing, it confirms it as ration rice. This initiative will make it easier to take strict action against misuse and illegal transport of PDS rice.
