AP Ration Card: Government Declares Certain Holders Ineligible

The Andhra Pradesh government has issued strict warnings for ration card holders. Individuals who do not collect ration supplies for three consecutive months or fail to complete the e-KYC process will have their cards canceled. This measure ensures that government schemes reach eligible beneficiaries while removing ineligible holders from the system.

Mandatory e-KYC for Transparency
To maintain transparency in the distribution system, both the central and state governments have made e-KYC compulsory. Officials are suspending smart cards of those who do not complete this process. Similarly, those who fail to collect ration for three consecutive months are being considered ineligible, and their cards are being canceled. Authorities urge all cardholders to collect their monthly ration without fail.

Prakasam District Figures
In Prakasam district, there are 661,141 ration cards, but only 572,000 families regularly collect their monthly rice quota. Approximately 14% of cardholders are not receiving their supplies. Officials collected details of individuals who did not complete e-KYC through ration dealers and have suspended their smart cards accordingly.

Final Phase of Smart Ration Card Distribution
Under the state Civil Supplies Department, arrangements have been completed for the final phase of smart ration card distribution in Prakasam district. About 150,000 applications were received for new cards and family member updates. By the end of July, 17,000 applications were reviewed, and 14,296 eligible applicants have been issued smart cards. The prepared cards have been sent to mandal-level Tahsildar offices, and distribution will commence shortly.
