Khairatabad Ganesh: Devotees Bid Grand Farewell to Maha Ganapati, Khairatabad Ganesh Shobha Yatra Begins

Khairatabad Maha Ganapati Shobha Yatra Begins Grandly

The prestigious Khairatabad Maha Ganapati Shobha Yatra commenced with grandeur on Saturday morning. The 69-foot, 50-ton idol of Sri Vishwashanthi Maha Shakti Ganapati, which has been worshipped by devotees for ten days, started its final journey towards Hussain Sagar for immersion. Although the procession was scheduled to begin at 6 AM, it started with a slight delay as the idol was carefully placed on a specially designed vehicle.

A 26-tyre heavy-duty vehicle from STC Transport, capable of carrying up to 100 tons, has been used to transport the massive idol. Alongside Lord Ganapati, the idols of Sri Jagannath Swamy, Lalitha Tripura Sundari, Lakshmi Hayagriva Swamy, and Gajjalamma Devi are being carried on another vehicle.

The GHMC has made elaborate arrangements with 20 cranes around Hussain Sagar for the immersion. The main immersion is scheduled at 2 PM at Crane No. 4 on NTR Marg. Among these cranes, the giant “Baahubali Crane,” known for handling heavy loads, is also deployed.

The Shobha Yatra will pass through Rajdoot Chowrastha, Telephone Bhavan, Iqbal Minar, Telugu Talli Flyover, and Secretariat Road before reaching NTR Marg, where the immersion will be performed.
