The Telangana government has expedited the restoration of key barrages in the Kaleshwaram Project. International organizations have been invited through a national-level EOI (Expression of Interest) to prepare new designs for the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages. The EOI was issued following orders from Water Resources Secretary Rahul Bojja, and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy directed that the design consultant selection process be completed within two weeks, accelerating the entire procedure.

The restoration work follows recommendations from the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA). Physical and geotechnical inspections are planned before and after the monsoon season. However, due to ongoing floodwaters, inspections after the monsoon may be delayed, particularly at Medigadda until December or January, and at Sundilla and Annaram until November. To avoid delays, the government is implementing alternative plans, completing remaining inspections while technical and financial bids are processed, and involving eligible firms in the inspection process.
