On the auspicious occasion of Karthika Pournami, temples across Andhra Pradesh were filled with thousands of devotees since early morning. Devotees performed special poojas and lit holy lamps at various Shaiva temples, marking one of the most sacred days of the Karthika Masam.
The famous Srisailam Jyotirlinga temple, along with the Pancharama temples — Draksharamam, Samarlakota, Bhimavaram, and Palakollu — witnessed heavy pilgrim rush. Other renowned temples like Amaravati and Muktyala also saw devotees arriving in large numbers. Worshippers lit Karthika Deepams and offered prayers with great devotion.
Temple premises echoed with chants of “Hara Hara Mahadeva Shambho Shankara”, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere. Authorities made elaborate arrangements to manage the crowd, while police ensured safety and security to prevent any untoward incidents. The festive mood at temples reflected the divine grandeur of Karthika Pournami celebrations.
