F-35B Fighter Jet Stuck in Kerala Due to Technical Issue; Fake OLX Sale Post Goes Viral
A British F-35B fighter jet unexpectedly landed at Thiruvananthapuram airport in Kerala and has been stuck there for ten days. This jet is one of the most advanced and expensive fighter planes in the world. Authorities are making arrangements to take it back.
Meanwhile, fake posts claiming the jet is for sale on OLX have gone viral on social media. One fake screenshot shows the F-35 fighter jet listed for $4 million (around ₹33 crore) with features like automatic parking, new tires, and a battery mentioned in the fake ad. The post received many funny comments and spread widely.
However, the viral post is completely fake. OLX’s official website has no such listing. A social media user even complained about this on X (formerly Twitter).
Currently, the fighter jet is under the security of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The jet belongs to the UK’s HMS Prince of Wales carrier strike group. This group is currently deployed in the Indo-Pacific region and recently conducted joint naval exercises with the Indian Navy.
British aviation engineers are working hard to fix a hydraulic system problem in the plane. But since the issue is not resolved yet, the jet’s return to its mother ship has been delayed.
