EPFO: PF Funds Can Now Be Withdrawn via ATM – New Facility for Employees

Millions of EPFO account holders have good news. To make it easier to withdraw PF funds in emergencies, the government is set to introduce a facility allowing employees to withdraw directly through ATMs starting January 2026.

The final decision on this proposal will be taken at the EPFO Central Board of Trustees (CBT) meeting in the second week of October. Once approved, the new services will be rolled out. EPFO will issue a special ATM debit card to account holders, enabling direct cash withdrawals without submitting any documents.

Currently, EPFO has 7.8 crore account holders with around ₹28 lakh crore deposited. Once the ATM facility is implemented, employees will have a quick and convenient way to access PF funds during urgent financial needs.
