US Strikes Iran's Nuclear Sites – B-2 Bombers Return Safely
The US carried out airstrikes on three key nuclear sites in Iran — Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan — under the name "Operation Midnight Hammer". After the mission, the B-2 stealth bombers returned safely to Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. The White House released a video showing the bombers landing. The President’s office praised the US military as "the greatest force for freedom the world has ever known."
B-2 Bombers Used Powerful GBU-57 Bunker Busters
The bombers used GBU-57 bunker buster bombs, which weigh around 30,000 pounds (13,600 kg) and can penetrate 200 feet underground before exploding. Reports say six such bombs were dropped on the Fordow nuclear site. Along with these, the US also used 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles, F-22 Raptors, and F-35A Lightning II jets in the attack.
World Reacts – Tensions Rise in the Middle East
This massive strike has increased fears of a full-scale war in the Middle East. The B-2 bomber is a high-tech stealth aircraft that can carry nuclear weapons and evade radar. Each aircraft costs around $2.1 billion and can carry over 40,000 pounds of weapons. The US military’s precise attack showed its unmatched capability in targeting deeply buried nuclear facilities.
