Incident on Air India Flight from London to Mumbai – 7 Fall Sick Mid-Air
An Air India flight (AI-130) flying from London (Heathrow Airport) to Mumbai on Monday witnessed a serious health scare. During the flight, five passengers and two crew members felt sick, complaining of nausea and dizziness. The airline has launched an investigation into the matter.
As the plane reached Mumbai, Air India’s medical team was ready on the ground. Four people, including two passengers and two crew members, were given immediate treatment at the airport medical facility and were later discharged. The airline confirmed that only seven people fell sick, though earlier reports suggested the number was 11.
Air India suspects food poisoning as the likely cause, although a technical expert mentioned cabin pressure issues can also lead to similar symptoms. However, no oxygen masks dropped, which rules that out. Interestingly, pilots who ate food later did not fall ill. The airline has informed aviation authorities and is continuing the investigation to find the exact cause.
