Hydra Demolition Drive in Begumpet: Illegal Structures Removed

HYDRA Officials Crack Down on Encroachments in Begumpet–Patny Area

HYDRA (Hyderabad Road Development Authority) officials have launched a demolition drive against illegal constructions in the Begumpet–Patny region, especially around the Patny Nala (drainage canal).

Working in coordination with the Cantonment Board, authorities are removing illegal structures that were built over and along the nala. On Thursday, HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath and Cantonment CEO Madhukar Naik inspected the site. They made it clear that strict action would be taken against those who have encroached on the nala area.

As part of the drive, two buildings adjacent to the nala were demolished. Early Friday morning, HYDRA teams arrived with bulldozers and began the demolition process.

Local residents had earlier complained to HYDRA that the illegal constructions had narrowed the nala, causing floodwater to enter homes and colonies during heavy rains. Following these complaints, the authorities took swift action to clear the encroachments and restore the flow of the drainage system.
