Warangal Floods: Heavy Overnight Rain Causes Severe Flooding in Warangal and Hanumakonda

Continuous heavy rains since last night have thrown life out of gear in the united Warangal district. Warangal, Hanumakonda, and Kazipet areas are facing severe flooding, with roads and low-lying areas completely submerged. Floodwaters have entered many colonies, disrupting traffic and daily life.

In Hanumakonda bus stand, Hanumakonda crossroads, Kazipet, Hasanparthi, and Gokul Nagar, water has accumulated heavily. In Warangal city, areas like Battala Bazaar, Pata Beet Bazaar, Hunter Road, Shivanagar, and Karimabad are under water. In DK Nagar near Ursugutta, floodwaters entered houses, forcing authorities to evacuate residents to relief camps.

Record rainfall has been reported across the district, with Sangem mandal receiving the highest of 20 cm, followed by Khilla Warangal at 14.8 cm and Wardhannapet at 12 cm. In Mahabubabad district, streams and rivulets are overflowing, cutting off road connections to several villages. The Paleru stream in Danthalapally mandal is flowing heavily, flooding a bridge between Pedamupparam and Danthalapally.
