Vijay Deverakonda: Vijay Deverakonda Issues Apology

Controversy Over Tribal Comments at ‘Retro’ Event
Case Filed Against Vijay Deverakonda at Rayadurg Police Station
Vijay Deverakonda Says He Never Intended to Hurt Anyone

Actor Vijay Deverakonda is facing trouble over some of his past comments. A case has been registered against him at the Rayadurg Police Station in Hyderabad under the SC/ST Atrocities Act, following allegations that he made derogatory remarks about tribal communities. Although Vijay has apologized, the controversy has not yet settled.

The issue arose from Vijay’s speech at the pre-release event of the movie Retro in April. During the event, he spoke about attacks by terrorists from Pakistan and compared them to conflicts involving primitive tribes thousands of years ago, implying that similar tensions still exist today. These remarks sparked strong backlash from tribal groups, who accused Vijay of insulting their community by comparing them to terrorists. Several tribal organizations condemned the comments and filed complaints with the police, stating that Vijay’s words hurt their sentiments.

As the controversy escalated, Vijay Deverakonda responded on social media a few days ago, saying, “I understand that some of my words have hurt the feelings of certain communities. I never intended to insult any tribe or group. I believe all Indians are one. The word ‘tribe’ was used in a different context, but it was misunderstood. If my words caused pain to anyone, I apologize sincerely. My message was meant to promote peace and unity.”
