UIDAI: Have You Updated Your Child’s Aadhaar? Important Guidelines Issued

UIDAI Issues Letter to States: Mandatory Aadhaar Update for School Students

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has directed all states and union territories to immediately update Aadhaar details of school students.

Mandatory Biometric Updates – Once between the ages of 5-7 years and again between 15-17 years, as children’s fingerprints and iris scans change with growth.

  •  Free Service – Both updates will be provided completely free of cost.
  •  Special Camps in Schools – States have been advised to organize Aadhaar update camps in schools.
  •  Warning – Failure to update Aadhaar may cause problems for students while applying for NEET, JEE, CUET and other national-level entrance exams or availing government schemes.

UIDAI Chief Bhuvanesh Kumar sent an official letter to chief secretaries of all states and UTs, stressing the importance of timely Aadhaar updates to avoid errors and ensure smooth access to education and welfare opportunities.
