Salman Khan’s upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace continues to face uncertainty over its theatrical release, with the makers yet to officially confirm a date. Originally scheduled to arrive in cinemas on April 17, the film has experienced multiple postponements, making its release plans increasingly unpredictable.
The latest developments suggest that December 11 is now being considered as a possible release date. Earlier, the makers were reportedly planning to release the film on November 20 after November 13 became difficult due to delays in the censor certification process. However, the release schedule has continued to change, leaving audiences waiting for an official announcement.
Although the censor certification process has reportedly been cleared, the filmmakers are still awaiting the Censor Certificate. The production team is expected to finalize its theatrical release plans once the certificate is received. Until then, December 11 remains a date under consideration rather than a confirmed release date.
In Maatrubhumi, Salman Khan portrays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the officer who led the 16 Bihar Regiment during the Galwan clash. He was posthumously honoured with the Maha Vir Chakra for his contribution. The film brings this real-life military figure to the screen, with Salman taking on a role based on an important chapter in the country's military history.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film also features Chitrangda Singh, Mukesh Rishi and Ankur Bhatia in significant roles, along with other cast members. The project has attracted attention because of its subject and Salman Khan's involvement.
