Rajinikanth: Nagarjuna Accepted Villain Role in Coolie With a Unique Thought
The film Coolie, starring Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is set to release on August 14. Superstar Rajinikanth recently spoke in a special video at the Hyderabad pre-release event. He said that Nagarjuna did not accept the villain role for money, but with the thought, "Should I always play only good roles?" That’s what made him agree to play the character of Simon.
Rajinikanth praised Nagarjuna, saying he is not someone who acts just for money and doesn’t even need it. He shared that when Lokesh was searching for someone to play Simon, many discussions happened with one actor, but nothing worked out. Later, it was revealed that the actor was Nagarjuna, and Rajinikanth said he was happy when Nagarjuna agreed.
Rajinikanth also said that it’s been 33 years since he last acted with Nagarjuna and was amazed to see that Nagarjuna still looks the same, while he joked, “My hair is gone!” He added that Nagarjuna shared his health secrets like exercise, swimming, a little diet, and good genes from his father. The movie also stars Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin, and Aamir Khan in a special role. Rajinikanth appreciated director Lokesh Kanagaraj and compared his success in Tamil to Rajamouli’s success in Telugu.
