Panchmukhi Shivalinga Discovered While Digging a Well

300-Year-Old Panchmukhi Shivalinga Found During Digging in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh

A rare Panchmukhi Shivalinga (five-faced Shiva Lingam) was discovered during pond digging in Sarai Pipariya village, located in Dataganj tehsil, Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. According to Mahant Paramatma Das Maharaj, the priest of the local Brahmadev Temple, the Shivalinga is estimated to be around 300 years old.

As soon as the news spread, a large number of people from nearby villages rushed to see the divine idol. Devotees and locals gathered at the site and started worshipping the Shivalinga with great devotion.

The digging was part of a pond project on a 13-acre land owned by environmentalist and Narmada Bachao Andolan activist Shipra Pathak. She is also developing a nursery named Panchatatva Paudhshala on the same land. She stated that her foundation has a goal to distribute 5 lakh saplings every year, and she considers the appearance of the Shivalinga as a divine blessing. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dharmendra Kumar Singh said that officials from the archaeology department will soon examine the Shivalinga.
