BSNL to Launch 5G Services Nationwide Soon – Major Deal Signed for Equipment Supply

The government telecom company BSNL is now ready to provide high-speed internet to the public. The company is gearing up to compete with full force in the high-speed race. To achieve this, BSNL has teamed up with Tejas Networks, a telecom equipment manufacturing company owned by the Tata Group. Under an agreement worth ₹7,492 crore, Tejas Networks has supplied equipment for 1 lakh 4G-5G sites to BSNL.

While sharing quarterly statistics, Tejas Networks CEO Anand Athreya mentioned that they have delivered over 1 lakh 4G/5G sites to BSNL. He added that this is one of the largest single-vendor RAN network deliveries in the world, completed in record time. He also praised C-DOT, TCS, and BSNL, noting that everyone involved showcased excellent performance.

When will BSNL 4G services be launched?

BSNL's 4G services are expected to be launched for customers starting from next month, June. Once the 4G services are available in many regions, it will be fully operational across the country. After this, the company is planning to upgrade its 4G network to 5G. However, BSNL has not yet provided information on when its 5G services will be launched. The government company is now ready to compete with private telecom companies in the high-speed internet race.

Tejas Networks is working with advanced technology:

The Tata Group company has partnered with the Japanese company NEC Corporation. Under this partnership, both companies will work together on Radio Access Network (RAN) technology, advanced wireless technology, and core network solutions.
