Andhra Pradesh Government Approves 10 New Medical Colleges under PPP Model
The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a significant step to develop medical education in the state by approving the construction and management of 10 new medical colleges through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare has issued orders to initiate the first phase of development, focusing on Adoni, Markapuram, Madanapalle, and Pulivendula medical colleges. Tenders will be invited, and development work will commence soon. For the remaining colleges in Penukonda, Palakollu, Amalapuram, Narsipatnam, Bapatla, and Parvathipuram, the government plans to take necessary actions shortly.
The government believes that following the PPP model will ensure faster fund mobilization and timely completion of projects.
A special committee reviewed the study reports prepared by KPMG Advisory Private Limited regarding the development of these four colleges, and the government approved the committee’s recommendations. Instructions have been issued to the Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Authority to take immediate steps for construction.
This initiative will not only expand medical education opportunities but also improve access to healthcare services across different regions of the state.
