Born on September 24, 1977, and hailing from Bapatla, Dr. Neelima Arya is the eldest daughter of Suresh Kumar and Mary Ratnam.

Her father served in the Indian Army and later worked as a Circle Inspector in the Crime Branch of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), while her mother was a homemaker.

Because of her father's service, Neelima spent much of her childhood in different parts of North India. Growing up in a disciplined family environment, alongside her two younger brothers, she developed values that would later become central to her personality—discipline, courage, responsibility, and adaptability.

Life brought difficult responsibilities at a young age. She lost her mother in 2001 and her father in 2003. These personal losses profoundly influenced her life and strengthened her sense of responsibility toward her family and her future.

Rather than allowing adversity to define her, Neelima chose to transform those experiences into strength.

Education as the Foundation

Neelima pursued her undergraduate education at Maris Stella College, Vijayawada, specialising in English Literature.

Her passion for education and language led her to pursue a master's degree in English Language and Literature from Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, which she completed in 2000.

Education would remain a constant thread throughout her professional journey—not merely as something she received, but as something she would later dedicate herself to sharing with thousands of students.

From Teaching to Television

Immediately after completing her postgraduate studies in 2000, Neelima began her professional career in education at Lal Bahadur Junior College.

But her ambitions extended beyond the classroom.

In 2001, she entered the world of television and media through Doordarshan, where she worked as an anchor and presented programmes including Prabhat Darshini. She also worked with DD News in Delhi.

What made this period particularly remarkable was her ability to manage multiple professional responsibilities simultaneously.

Alongside her media career, she continued teaching English at engineering institutions and trained students preparing for competitive examinations such as GRE and TOEFL.

At Sreyas College of Engineering, she also took on the role of Brand Ambassador, representing and promoting the institution through various media platforms.

For several years, Neelima maintained an exceptionally demanding schedule, often working 12–15 hours a day, balancing teaching, media responsibilities, student training, institutional branding, and professional development.

Her early career established a pattern that would continue throughout her life: never limiting herself to one role when she believed she could contribute in another.

A Mother, a Single Parent and a Fighter

In 2004, Neelima entered another important chapter of her life when she got married.

She became a mother to two children—a daughter born in August 2005 and a son born in April 2007.

Circumstances eventually led her to become a single parent.

From 2008 onward, Neelima carried the responsibilities of motherhood and professional life together.

Raising two young children while continuing to build her career required enormous determination. Instead of allowing personal circumstances to bring her professional journey to a halt, she chose to move forward with both responsibilities.

For Neelima, motherhood was not a reason to abandon her ambitions. It became another source of strength.

A Bold Move to Saudi Arabia

In 2011, Neelima made another courageous decision.

She moved to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, taking her young children with her. At the time, her daughter was around six years old and her son was approximately four and a half.

She joined Dammam University as an Associate Professor of English, teaching Arab students while simultaneously raising her children in a new country and cultural environment.

The move demanded adaptability, courage, and determination.

For five years, she continued her professional journey in Saudi Arabia while ensuring that her children received a stable environment in which they could grow and pursue their education.

She remained in Saudi Arabia until 2016, before returning to India with her children.

Her return marked the beginning of another major transformation.

From the Classroom to the Corner Office

In 2016, Neelima moved into corporate media, joining TV5 as Creative Head.

A year later, in 2017, she moved into a senior leadership role with Studio N News.

Her professional growth continued, and in 2020, she became the CEO of CVR News Channel.

Her transition from teacher to television anchor, professor, creative leader, and eventually CEO demonstrates one of the strongest characteristics of her personality—the willingness to continuously learn, adapt, and reinvent herself.

She pursued an LLB, completed her law degree, cleared the All India Bar Examination, and in 2024 enrolled as a High Court Advocate in Telangana.

Turning Social Responsibility into Action

In 2018, while continuing her media career, she founded the Apple Home Real Need India Foundation.

The philosophy behind the organisation was straightforward: identify the real needs of society and develop practical solutions to address them.

One of its notable initiatives was Feed the Need.

Feed the Need

In association with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Neelima worked toward establishing community food refrigerators and kiosks at public locations.

The concept was simple yet impactful.

People with surplus food could place it in the refrigerators, while people in need could access the food.

Under the initiative, 40 refrigerators were established in Telangana and four in Andhra Pradesh.

GHMC supported the initiative by providing space and power, while Neelima focused on mobilising donors and managing the initiative.

The project continued until the COVID-19 pandemic, when the refrigerator-based model became difficult to sustain.

Despite the challenges, the initiative demonstrated her belief that social service should focus on real needs and practical solutions.

She Need: Supporting Women's Dignity

Her commitment to women's well-being continued through another initiative known as She Need.

The initiative focused on improving access to sanitary products through vending machines and public kiosks.

For Neelima, women's empowerment was not limited to speeches or motivational messages. She believed that dignity, hygiene, accessibility, and basic needs were equally important components of empowerment.

Mission Badrata

In 2023, Neelima took up Mission Badrata, an initiative aimed at providing one lakh innerwear garments to underprivileged girl children.

The initiative addressed an aspect of women's dignity and hygiene that is often overlooked in conversations about social welfare.

Through such initiatives, Neelima demonstrated her belief that meaningful social change begins by recognising needs that society sometimes chooses not to discuss.

Entrepreneurship: Arya Rasoi

Neelima's entrepreneurial journey also developed alongside her professional and social commitments.

In 2022, she ventured into the food business by establishing Arya Rasoi, a cloud kitchen.

Entrepreneurship provided her with another opportunity to explore her ideas independently and build something of her own.

A New Chapter in Dubai

In 2024, after her children completed their schooling, Neelima moved to Dubai.

Her daughter is pursuing a BBA at Manipal University Dubai, while her son is pursuing an LLB at Amity University Dubai.

Moving to another country could have been a period of simply settling into a new environment.

For Neelima, however, it became another opportunity to build.

She established Bright Brain Nursery, a British Curriculum Nursery in Ajman, entering the field of education entrepreneurship.

Building and establishing the nursery required patience, leadership, planning, and a deep understanding of education—an area that had been part of her professional life since the beginning.

After spending the subsequent years building and establishing the institution, Neelima returned to India.

Returning to India with a New Mission

Back in India, Neelima began another leadership chapter by joining Suman TV as CEO of the Education Department.

Her latest role brings together many of the experiences accumulated throughout her career—education, administration, media leadership, entrepreneurship, communication, and organisational management.

It is another example of her belief that a career is not a straight line but a continuous journey of learning and contribution.
