WhatsApp to Launch Another New Feature Soon

WhatsApp Now Lets You Choose Download Quality for Photos & Videos
Popular messaging app WhatsApp is introducing a new feature where users can choose the quality of auto-downloaded photos and videos. This option will allow users to select either Standard or HD quality while downloading media files. According to WABetaInfo, this feature is currently available in WhatsApp beta version 2.25.18.11 for Android.

Until now, WhatsApp did not offer control over the auto-download quality of media. But with this update, users can go to Settings > Storage and Data and choose the preferred download quality. Choosing Standard quality helps save mobile storage and data, while HD quality offers better clarity but uses more space and data.

This feature is built on WhatsApp’s dual upload system introduced earlier. Currently, it is available only to selected beta testers. In the future, this feature will roll out to all users. Earlier, Meta tested a similar feature on iOS in April, but it hasn’t been released to everyone yet.
