Chennai, Sep 10: Cyber fraudsters have reportedly duped people in Tamil Nadu of over Rs 1,000 crore through sophisticated online scams. The state police have launched a massive crackdown to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent further losses.
Authorities stated that the scams involved fake investment schemes, phishing websites, and fraudulent e-commerce platforms. Several complaints have been lodged from across the state, prompting special investigation teams to track and arrest the scammers.
Police are urging citizens to verify online offers, avoid sharing sensitive personal information, and report any suspicious activity immediately. Officials also confirmed coordination with cybercrime units in other states to trace the flow of funds and identify the masterminds behind the operations.
