Hyderabad, Sep 8: The Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have extended their heartfelt congratulations to the Indian men’s hockey team for their triumph at the Asia Cup 2025.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy lauded the team for their decisive 4-1 victory over South Korea in the final, which also secured India’s qualification for the 2026 FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup. He said this win is a moment of great pride not just for the team but for the entire nation. The Chief Minister wished the players continued success and hoped for more achievements in the future.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu took to X to celebrate the team’s success. He said, “Congratulations to the Indian Men’s Hockey Team on their remarkable Asia Cup 2025 victory in Rajgir, Bihar! After eight years, our team reclaimed the title with a commanding 4-1 win over defending champions South Korea. This victory is a proud moment in Indian sports and a shining example of determination and perseverance for young athletes.”
Naidu added, “I am confident our players will carry forward India’s proud hockey legacy and create many more memorable performances on the world stage. I wish them the very best for the 2026 World Cup.”
YSR Congress Party President and former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also congratulated the team on X, saying, “Heartiest congratulations to Team India on a splendid victory at the Asia Cup 2025 in Rajgir, Bihar! Wishing the entire team continued success, health, and glory in the years to come.”
India secured the Asia Cup title after a convincing 4-1 win against Korea at the Rajgir Sports Complex on Sunday. This victory ended an eight-year wait for the title and also ensured India’s qualification for the 2026 FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup in the Netherlands and Belgium.
