Secunderabad-Kazipet Railway: 2 New Railway Lines in Telangana, ₹2,837 Crore Project

New Railway Lines on Secunderabad-Kazipet Route: Travel Time to Reduce
Good news for passengers on the heavily congested Secunderabad-Kazipet railway route in Telangana. The central government has approved the construction of two new railway lines to significantly reduce travel time on this route.

The additional 110 km lines are estimated to cost around ₹2,837 crore, according to Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. The new lines will ease railway congestion and allow trains to run at speeds of 130–150 km/h.

Once completed, the travel time between Secunderabad and Kazipet, which currently takes 2.5–3 hours, will reduce to about one hour, enabling passengers to reach their destination within two hours. The project will also reduce delays, improve freight train services, and speed up goods transportation. Construction will begin as soon as the required approvals are granted.
