Key Announcement by Central Government on Navratri: 25 Lakh Free LPG Connections under PMUY

To mark the auspicious Navratri festival, the Central Government has announced good news for women across the country. As part of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), an additional 25 lakh new LPG connections will be distributed free of cost. With this initiative, the total number of Ujjwala beneficiaries in India will reach 10.60 crore.

This was officially announced by Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday via his social media account. The decision aims to support economically weaker families during the festive season. The government will bear approximately ₹2,050 for each new free connection.

Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi always prioritizes respect and empowerment of women. Providing 25 lakh new Ujjwala connections during this holy Navratri is another testament to his commitment to women. The government is dedicated to bringing light and comfort to women’s lives through this scheme.”
