Mohanlal Receives Warm Welcome at Sri Lankan Parliament, Meets PM Harini Amarasuriya
Mumbai, June 20: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception he received during his recent visit to the Sri Lankan Parliament. The actor described the experience as “truly unforgettable,” highlighting his meaningful conversations with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and other key leaders.
Sharing moments from the visit on Instagram, Mohanlal posted two photos from the Parliament and wrote:
“Deeply honoured by the gracious welcome at the Parliament of Sri Lanka. It was a true privilege to meet the Honourable Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvie Salih, and my dear friend Ishantha Ratnayake.”
He added, “I remain deeply grateful for the warmth, generosity, and meaningful conversations that made this visit to Sri Lanka truly unforgettable.”
With a career spanning over four decades and more than 400 films to his credit, the 64-year-old actor has received numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri (2001) and Padma Bhushan (2019). In 2009, he became the first Indian actor to be awarded the honorary rank of lieutenant colonel in the Territorial Army.
Mohanlal was last seen in the crime thriller Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy, and will next appear in the family drama Hridayapoorvam, directed by Sathyan Anthikad and slated for theatrical release on August 28. He also stars in the upcoming epic action drama Vrusshabha, alongside Roshan Meka, Shanaya Kapoor, and others.
