A significant step has been taken to improve transport facilities in the Andhra Pradesh capital region. The Railway Department has approved the construction of a six-lane road overbridge (ROB) near Don Bosco School in Mangalagiri, connecting the Mangalagiri and Krishna Canal railway stations, at an estimated cost of ₹112 crore.
The ROB will directly link the national highway to the 13 main roads within the Amaravati capital region. The Railway Department has agreed to build the six-lane bridge considering future traffic requirements. This approval comes following a proposal submitted by Union Minister Pemmasoni Chandrasekhar.
Once completed, the overbridge is expected to reduce traffic congestion, provide better travel facilities to commuters, and ensure faster connectivity from Mangalagiri and surrounding areas to the capital.
