Jubilee Hills Byelection: Flood of Nominations, Today is the Last Date
Following the untimely demise of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath, a byelection has been necessitated in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency, generating widespread political interest across Telangana. The competition for this single seat has intensified, with candidates rushing to file nominations. As of now, 127 candidates have submitted their nomination papers, including representatives from major political parties, independents, and smaller regional parties.
The ruling BRS party has strategically fielded Maganti Sunita Gopinath, the late MLA’s wife, as its candidate. Senior party leaders, including K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and Minister Harish Rao, are actively campaigning to secure voter support across the constituency.
The nomination process, which began on October 13, concludes today. Election officials will scrutinize the submitted nominations on Wednesday. Candidates have until October 24 to withdraw nominations. Polling is scheduled for November 11, and counting of votes along with the announcement of results will take place on November 14. With major parties expected to submit additional nominations on the last day, suspense remains high over the final list of candidates.
