The JEE Advanced is conducted for admissions into various programmes offered at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Following the JEE Advanced results declaration, the counselling for admissions into IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), IIEST, IIITs and other government-funded technical institutes will commence from October 16.
Accordingly, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2021 has issued a detailed admission counselling schedule as per which the candidates can register for the first round of admissions and give their choice of academic programmes from October 16 to 25.
The registration process is mandatory for qualified candidates who want to join any of the IITs, NITs, IIITs and other government-funded technical institutes.
The candidates who participate in the first round of counselling will be allotted seats on October 27 and such candidates have to report online, pay a fee, upload documents and respond to query, if required, by October 30.
After the first phase, the second round of seat allocation will be done on November 1 and online reporting has to be done on November 2 and 3, while seat allocation for the third round will be on November 6. Likewise, a total of six rounds of admission counselling will be conducted to allocate the seats for the participating students.
To accept allotted seats and continue to be a part of JoSAA-2021 till the final round of seat allocation, candidates must upload all required documents and must pay the seat acceptance fee, the JoSAA said.
Candidates whose seat has been confirmed by the JoSAA can withdraw from the seat allocation process from the second round and up to the fifth round of seat allocation before the final round of seat allotment, it said.
