Chennai, Sep 8: The makers of Dhanush’s highly anticipated action entertainer, Idly Kadai, have officially revealed the role of veteran actor Sathyaraj in the film.

Wunderbar Films, Dhanush’s production house, along with Dawn Pictures, shared on X, “Introducing the veteran #Sathyaraj as VISHNU VARDHAN. Get ready for #IdlyKadai in theatres on October 1.”

Dhanush himself wrote on X, “Dearest Sathyaraj Sir as Vishnu Vardhan #IdlyKadai.”

Earlier, the unit had announced that Arun Vijay would portray a character named Ashwin in the film.

The team recently traveled to Bangkok to shoot an important sequence involving all the main actors, marking the completion of the film’s shooting schedule. Dawn Pictures later confirmed the wrap on X, stating, “It’s time to call it a WRAP for #IdlyKadai. See you in theatres on October 1. Exciting updates soon.”

Originally, Idly Kadai was scheduled for release on April 10, 2025, but the release was postponed to October 1, 2025. Arun Vijay plays the antagonist, promising an intense showdown with Dhanush on-screen.

Shalini Pandey has also been confirmed to play a pivotal role in the film.

Directed by Dhanush, Idly Kadai stars Dhanush and Nithya Menon in lead roles. The film is jointly produced by Wunderbar Films and Dawn Pictures, with cinematography by Kiran Koushik and music composed by G V Prakash.
