Hyderabad Real Estate Boom: GHMC Records Historic Revenue in Just Five Months

GHMC Revenue Sees Huge Growth – Hyderabad Real Estate Back on Track

Hyderabad’s real estate sector is once again picking up pace, and the latest figures clearly reflect this trend. With construction activity gaining momentum, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has recorded a massive jump in revenue.

In the first five months of the current financial year (2025–26), GHMC earned over ₹750 crore through building permits and occupancy certificates (OC) — a 90% increase compared to the same period last year, when revenue stood at ₹309 crore.

According to GHMC data, between April and August alone, authorities granted 4,389 new building permits and issued 1,008 occupancy certificates.

Last year (2024–25), GHMC’s total revenue from the town planning department was ₹1,138 crore. This year, in just five months, the corporation has already collected 65% of that total, highlighting the strong recovery in the real estate sector. Independent houses and mid-rise buildings (up to five floors) have also seen a notable increase in construction.

Impact of the ‘Build Now’ Policy

One of the key reasons for this growth is GHMC’s ‘Build Now’ policy, implemented from March 20. The initiative has significantly accelerated the building permission process.

With a single-window clearance system and advanced technology, developers are quickly receiving No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from departments like Revenue and Irrigation. This faster approval system is helping applications get cleared without delays.

Thanks to these reforms, real estate companies are showing enthusiasm to launch new projects. As a result, GHMC’s revenue has surged, and Hyderabad’s property market is witnessing strong revival momentum.
