England Makes History in T20 Cricket: First Full-Member Nation to Cross 300 Runs
England created history in T20 cricket as opener Phil Salt smashed a sensational century, helping his team become the first full-member nation to surpass the 300-run mark. In the second T20 against South Africa at Old Trafford, Manchester, England posted a massive 304/2 in their 20 overs.
Phil Salt remained unbeaten on 141 off just 60 balls, hitting a flurry of fours and sixes. Captain Jos Buttler added a quick 83 off 30 balls. Contributions from Jacob Bethell (26) and Harry Brook (41*) ensured England set a record-breaking total.
Internationally, only Nepal (314/3) and Zimbabwe (344/4) have crossed 300 in T20s, but this is the first time it has happened between two full-member nations.
Phil Salt, known for his explosive IPL 2025 season with RCB, continued his fiery form on the international stage, playing a key role in England’s historic victory.
