Bhoomi Shetty’s look as ‘Maha’ in Puja Kolluru’s ‘Mahakali’ revealed!
Chennai, Oct 30: The makers of director Puja Kolluru’s Mahakali unveiled the stunning first look of lead actress Bhoomi Shetty as Maha, leaving fans thrilled and eager for the film’s release.
The film is part of director Prasanth Varma’s Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). Sharing the poster, Prasanth Varma wrote,
“From the cosmic womb of creation awakens the most FEROCIOUS SUPERHERO of the universe! Introducing #BhoomiShetty as MAHA.”
Sources reveal that over 50% of the shoot has been completed, with major scenes being filmed on specially constructed sets in Hyderabad. Despite being a non-star cast film, the production reportedly has a massive budget, reflecting the makers’ confidence in the story and its lead. Interestingly, several A-list actresses had shown interest in playing the superhero, but the team insisted on casting a fresh, dark-skinned face to bring authenticity to the character.
The first look shows Bhoomi Shetty drenched in fiery red and gold hues, adorned with traditional ornaments and sacred markings, embodying both wrath and grace. Her intense gaze symbolizes destruction and rebirth — the eternal duality of Goddess Mahakali.
The film has generated immense buzz among fans. A month ago, the team had revealed Akshaye Khanna’s look as Shukracharya, marking his debut in Telugu cinema.
With Puja Kolluru directing and Prasanth Varma as the showrunner, Mahakali is the next major chapter in the PVCU after the pan-India hit Hanu-Man. Produced by RKD Studios, this mythological superhero film promises to be a grand cinematic spectacle celebrating divine power and feminine strength.
