AP Skill Development: ‘NaiPunya’ Portal to Empower Youth with AI-Based Training

The Andhra Pradesh government has launched a new initiative called ‘NaiPunya’, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven skill development portal aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for youth. For the first time in India, this unique platform uses AI to assess candidates’ abilities, conduct virtual interviews, and connect job seekers with employers.

The government plans to officially launch the portal during the Partnership Summit to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15. The ‘NaiPunya’ portal will integrate crucial data from both central and state government databases, including e-Shram, Aadhaar, DigiLocker, and EPF, as well as education and employment records from the state. This helps verify the authenticity of applicant details and employment status.

The AI system evaluates candidates — from plumbers to engineering graduates — identifying their skill gaps and generating resumes in Telugu, Hindi, or English with AI assistance. It acts as a bridge between unemployed youth and employers, featuring integration with popular job platforms like Naukri and Vision India, along with learning resources from Infosys and UNICEF.

Employers can register using their PAN details and post job vacancies directly. Job seekers can access opportunities across both government and private sectors. The portal also offers a virtual assistant called ‘Ask Vidya’, which provides details about available training centers and skill courses.

Upon completing training, the AI system evaluates individual progress and recommends suitable job matches. Overall, the ‘NaiPunya’ portal aims to create a comprehensive digital ecosystem that enables training, assessment, and employment — all in one place — helping youth build a brighter future.
