PM Modi to Lead Council of Ministers Meeting, First After Operation Sindoor

New Delhi, June 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to chair a critical meeting of the Union Council of Ministers on June 4, marking the first such gathering since India’s decisive military operation, Operation Sindoor.

This high-level meeting comes in the wake of India’s precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These strikes were launched in retaliation for the April terror attack in Pahalgam, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians vacationing in the Jammu & Kashmir town.

Launched on May 7, Operation Sindoor was a carefully planned offensive targeting nine terror sites across Pakistan and PoK. The Indian Armed Forces executed these strikes with precision, dismantling critical terror infrastructure while minimizing collateral damage.

The operation also included counterattacks on Pakistan’s military installations, notably air bases, reaffirming India’s strong commitment to national security.

The upcoming ministerial meeting is expected to provide a detailed briefing on the operation, offering insights into its planning, execution, and strategic impact.

Sources suggest the discussion will also align with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) upcoming programs to celebrate the first anniversary of Prime Minister Modi’s third term.

The Prime Minister is likely to outline his government’s broader agenda, focusing on national security, economic reforms, and diplomatic initiatives.

Beyond Operation Sindoor, the meeting will review key government projects and assess their progress and implementation.

The Council of Ministers typically convenes every three months to bring together senior bureaucrats and policymakers to deliberate on pressing national matters.

Given the geopolitical significance of India’s recent military action, this session is expected to be especially important.

PM Modi has consistently emphasized India’s resolute stand against terrorism, describing Operation Sindoor as setting a “new normal” in the country’s response to cross-border threats.

In his speeches, he has highlighted the operation’s success in dismantling terror networks and sending a strong message to adversaries.

As the government approaches its first year in office, this meeting is likely to reaffirm its commitment to safeguarding national interests while shaping future policy directions.
