Bengal Soldier Gaurav Mukherjee’s Family Threatened by Unknown People
Gaurav Mukherjee, a para commando currently serving in Jammu and Kashmir, has received serious threats from unknown persons. A warning poster was found outside his house in Dhaniakhali village, Hooghly district of West Bengal. The poster had handwritten messages in Bengali saying things like "We want Gaurav's head" and "Pakistan Zindabad." It also threatened, "If you protect Hindus, we will destroy your family. We will turn Bengal into Bangladesh." Gaurav’s family saw the poster on Saturday night and reported it to the local police immediately.
Police registered an FIR and started an investigation. Senior officers from the Hooghly rural police visited the spot and reviewed the situation. To ensure safety, they arranged 24-hour protection outside Gaurav’s house, installed CCTV cameras, and set up a police picket for constant patrolling.
After checking CCTV footage, police noticed four unknown people moving around suspiciously on two scooters near the house. Officials suspect it could be the work of local miscreants but said they are investigating from all angles. The local residents are worried and have expressed concern over the threats to the soldier’s family.
