UPI Payments to Become Faster: NPCI Announces Key Changes

Currently, UPI transactions take at least 30 seconds to complete. To address this, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is making significant changes to the UPI payment system. Starting from June 16, 2025, UPI transactions will be completed within just 15 seconds.

At present, digital payments, especially UPI, are preferred by users across various sectors, from small tea shops to large malls. However, the time taken for each transaction has been an issue. The NPCI has announced that it will reduce this time by half, improving user experience.

This update, effective from June 16, will allow UPI payments to be quicker and more efficient. The transaction verification time will be reduced from 30 seconds to 10 seconds, helping users save time and enjoy a smoother, faster payment process.
