A fire accident occurred early in the morning near the Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati. The fire started at one shop and quickly spread to a nearby shop and some decorative tents (chalava pandals) placed in front of the temple.
Local people were shocked and frightened as the flames rose high. The fire department arrived at the spot immediately and brought the fire under control. Items like brass utensils and idols inside the shops were completely burnt. Officials suspect that the fire started due to an electric short circuit in one of the shops.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or loss of life in the incident. However, the total property loss is yet to be assessed. People nearby breathed a sigh of relief as the fire was stopped before reaching the temple structure.
