Ranbir’s Ramayana to Release in Two Parts with ₹1600 Crore Budget

Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is playing the lead role of Lord Rama in the upcoming mythological epic “Ramayana.” As per reports circulating on social media, the film is being made with a massive ₹1600 crore budget, making it one of the most expensive movies in Indian cinema history. The film is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari and will be released in two parts.

The first part will be made with a budget of ₹900 crore, and the second part will cost ₹700 crore. The makers are building grand sets to create the world of Ramayana in the first part, while the second part is said to focus on action sequences and the climax. The movie is expected to be a visual wonder using high-end VFX and advanced production design.

Ranbir Kapoor will play Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash will be seen as Ravana. Reports also suggest Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha. The first part of the film has reportedly completed its shooting and is being planned for a Diwali 2026 release, while the second part is likely to hit screens in Diwali 2027.
