Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu: National Women Empowerment Conference to Be Held in Tirupati on September 14 & 15

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu held a review meeting on the upcoming National Women Empowerment Conference, which is scheduled to be held at Taj Hotel, Tirupati on September 14 and 15. He reviewed the arrangements along with Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnam Raju and District In-charge Minister Anagani Satya Prasad at the Tirupati Collectorate. Ayyanna Patrudu said the event will be conducted in a memorable way.

The Speaker mentioned that 31 Assemblies in India have active women committees, and these committees regularly discuss issues concerning women. He explained that it's difficult for Speakers and Deputy Speakers to address each issue individually, so such conferences will help bring key topics to the notice of state and central governments. He added that the goal of the conference is to discuss women’s empowerment through legislative platforms.

Originally, the conference was planned in Visakhapatnam, but Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla suggested Tirupati as the venue, given its spiritual and cultural importance. Around 300 women representatives — six from each state and six from each Assembly — are expected to attend. They will hold detailed discussions on two major issues, and a report will be submitted to the Parliament and Assemblies. After the conference, participants will visit Tirumala, Srikalahasti, Sricity, Sriharikota, and Chandragiri Fort. The Speaker asked officials to ensure the travel plans go smoothly. Deputy Speaker Raghurama Raju praised CM Chandrababu Naidu for giving high priority to women in legislation and leadership. TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, EO Shyamala Rao, Collector Venkateshwar, MLAs, and Corporation Chairpersons also participated in the review.
