IPL 2025 Ticket Refund Rules Explained After Match Rescheduling

The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will resume on May 17, 2025, with a revised schedule. This change caused confusion among fans who had already purchased tickets for earlier match dates.

To clear the air, IPL franchises have announced that tickets bought earlier will remain valid for the rescheduled matches. In addition, if any match was cancelled, fans will get a full refund for their tickets.

The league will restart with a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 17, at RCB’s home ground. RCB is also scheduled to play against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 23, a match that was originally planned for May 13.

The postponement came due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, causing a one-week delay in the tournament.

In response to concerns, RCB issued an official statement on X (formerly Twitter), assuring that all ticket holders for the match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will still be allowed entry. This announcement has relieved fans who were worried about losing access to the game.
