Hyderabad, Nov 10: Police in Hyderabad went on high alert on Monday night following the explosion near Red Fort in New Delhi, which killed 10 people and injured several others.
Security was strengthened across the three commissionerates — Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda — where police began intensive vehicle checks and public frisking at key locations.
Officials have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or unidentified objects to the police control room by dialing 100.
Increased vigilance was seen at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, with the CISF, dog squads, and bomb disposal teams carrying out strict inspections. CISF has also intensified surveillance at airports, heritage sites, and key government installations across the country.
Security has been heightened at Secunderabad, Nampally, and Kacheguda railway stations, where RPF and GRP teams are conducting thorough luggage checks. Hyderabad Metro stations are also under strict monitoring.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh police have beefed up security in major cities like Vijayawada, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati, with increased checks near the Tirumala temple. The TTD authorities have enhanced surveillance in and around the temple premises.
